Canadian Nurses Protective Society

CNPS Plus is a national group insurance program sponsored by the Canadian Nurses Protective Society (CNPS) and offered to you by Aon Reed Stenhouse, a multinational insurance broker.

CNPS Plus is available to all registered nurses in Canada. (Ontario nurses also have access to NurseInsure, a similar plan sponsored by the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario.)

CNPS Plus was designed primarily for those nurses working in independent practice, as independent contractors and as Nurse Practitioners, who may wish to augment the protection currently available from CNPS for liability protection (malpractice) and other CNPS services. CNPS Plus does not affect the protective services already available from CNPS. CNPS Plus was also designed to provide coverages not currently offered by CNPS, such as business protection for nurse-owned and operated businesses, professional discipline defence coverage, and directors' and officers' liability coverage.

Please note: If you do not plan to renew your insurance coverage, "tail coverage" is recommended to extend the reporting period and the coverage for claims that may arise after the policy expiry date.
