CNPS Special Joint Committee submission

The CNPS has monitored the developments in the law of end-of-life care as they have unfolded, including the decisions of the Supreme Court of Canada Carter v. Canada (A.G.) relating to physician-assisted death. Of interest to the CNPS are the corresponding implications to nurses, which it has carefully studied.

When the opportunity arose to provide written submissions to the Special Joint Committee on the implementation of Physician-Assisted Dying, the CNPS acted. The CNPS submission highlights certain legal implications of the Carter decision for nurses and proposes ways to address them. Click here to read the CNPS written submission.
